Revamping the Site

The site has been abandoned a little bit, its my fault for that my offline life has been keeping me busy the last couple of months. I have finally decided to get off my lazy butt and get this site back on track. I have decided to move the site to Wordpress, all posts and content will be managed through this script which should make it easier to manage.
I have also decided to move the gallery to a new location. The gallery will be redone and all videos will be added again. I hope to get this site back on track in two weeks minimum. Please bear with me if it takes me longer, but I do promise to make it much better.

Amazing Grace DVD Screencaps

As many of you know the Amazing Grace DVD got released on Tuesday, November 13th. I got my copy of the DVD and of course made screencaps of the movie and the making of featurette and added them to the gallery.

Venice Festival opens with Knightley in “Atonement”

VENICE (Reuters) - The Venice film festival opened on Wednesday with “Atonement,” an adaptation of Ian McEwan’s acclaimed novel about a girl whose fertile imagination leads her to make a false accusation that has tragic consequences.
The movie, starring British actress Keira Knightley, is the first of 22 entries in the festival’s main competition, and was screened to the press ahead of the evening red carpet premiere.
For 11 days the Lido waterfront will be home to hundreds of journalists there for the films and to follow the stars as they promote their pictures and party into the early hours.
Knightley wore an empire-style full-length ivory dress and a pink belt for the gala screening, which officially launched the 64th edition of the world’s oldest movie contest. (more…)

Angel Interview

Thanks to Kathy for the heads up about this interview. Romola did an interview on the official site of Angel director François Ozon. Here is a snippet of the interview, to read the rest interview here.
How did you meet François Ozon, and what were your first impressions?
I met him at the audition for the role and I was extremely nervous, because I’m a genuine fan of his. Sometimes you read a script and you understand the character straight away, instinctively. I didn’t intellectualize it. And François didn’t guide me much. It seemed my idea of who Angel was corresponded to his idea. Later my agent told me François thought I was very good but not glamorous enough, so I tidied myself up a bit and went back a second time. I guess he didn’t like my cardigan!
Tell us about your screen tests.
I met François twice on my own, then with two different Noras, then with two potential male leads. So I had six auditions in the end, and I felt every time that I was being auditioned again. If I had been really bad in any of them, François would have gone back to the drawing board. I wasn’t sure till very late in the day that I had the part. I couldn’t believe François would cast someone with essentially no profile in the film world to play the lead role in his first English language film.

International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary Portraits

I’ve come back with more goodies for you guys. If you haven’t noticed I have been really working on this site these past few days. I’m on a Romola high right now, and after Kathy’s tip yesterday I went around looking for more pictures of Romola. Well…all that looking around paid off, I found a gorgeous portrait session that was done yesterday for the 42nd International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary. Happy Birthday Romola & Welcome Back RGO

First off, let me wish Romola a very Happy Birthday. Our dear girl turns 25 today, I wish her the best on this special day for her.
Now on the the site updates, I would like to welcome you all to the new and improved Romola Garai Online. I want to thank Kathy, former owner of RGO, for this super gorgeous layout. Well…you might be asking yourselves exactly what is new on this site, well here is what is new. First of all, the Gallery has been completely redone, it is much more organized and it should be easier to find the images you are looking for. There is still no new theme there, but that along with a new video archive are next on the list. Second, a lot of the content has been shifted around, recoded and updated or deleted. The most noticeable change is the filmography, which is now located under the Career section. This will be your stop to learn about Romola’s work, both upcoming films and the films she has already worked on.
Of course not only is RGO back with a new look, but also with some goodies courtesy of Kathy and Maria. Kathy has kindly donated some Scoop DVD Screencaps, and Maria has donated As You Like It DVD Screencaps. I want to thank them for their generous donations to share with all Romola fans.

Gallery Update

I’ve been working on the site these past few days. I’ve been sorting and updating some pages around the site, but they are not available yet as they will be uploaded when the new layout is up.
Since Friday, I’ve been working on the gallery by adding more pictures to it. There is a brand new section in the gallery that has been completed, the Magazine Scans section is now available to everyone. There are some brand new scans that were kindly donated by Maria and Natalia, as well as some new photos thanks to the wonderful Kathy. I have added two new portrait sessions and one photoshoot outtake session. Below are a few previews of what has been added to the gallery, and now you can go and enjoy the new goodies!
